PROGRAM INFORMATION

Ages - Programs are offered for children between the ages of 0 to 12 years of age.

​

Hours of Operation - Full time care at Denison Child Care Centre is offered between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 pm, five days a week. The program at Poplar Bank Public School is offered from 7:00 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. and 2:35 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.; at Glen Cedar Public School from 7:00 a.m. to 8:10 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.; at Terry Fox Public School from 7:00 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.; at Phoebe Gilman Public School from 7:00 a.m. to 8:20 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Nutrition - A nutritious midday meal as well as morning and afternoon snacks will be provided. Parents of young infants will be expected to provided for their child's dietary needs. All food/bottles brought into the centre must be clearly labelled with each child's name. Children's special dietary needs and allergies will be posted in the cooking and services areas. Weekly menu plans will be posted four (4) weeks in advance to assist parents in menu planning in the home. Parents of school aged children, including those attending kindergarten, will be expected to provide a bagged lunch for PA days, school holidays and summer camp. Lunches should include a nut free nutritious, well balanced meal that meets the requirement set out in Canada's Food Guide. Parents should pack all lunch bags with an ice pack as they are not stored in the refrigerator. Staff at the centre are able to provide parents copies of Canada's Food Guide and suggestions for healthy snacks upon request.
